Greetings to our Southern Fried colleagues:

We wanted to say a quick thank you to all the poets who attended our first virtual Southern Fried Town Hall. The board was excited to share some big news and we appreciate you taking the time to spend your evening with us. If you were unable to attend, no worries – you can view the recording of our meeting along with the presentation in our Townhall blog post. Thank you also to the poets who gave us feedback about the virtual meeting. We have decided to now host virtual gatherings on a quarterly basis in order to provide updates and vote on new business. So stay tuned!

Just as a reminder: we will be hosting our first virtual Slammaster’s Meeting on Tuesday, July 7^th at 7:00 pm. Slammaster’s will be voting to elect new Board Members to fill upcoming vacancies. If you are interested in nominating someone to be a Board Member for Southern Fried Poetry, Inc, then forward their name and contact information to info@southernfriedpoetryslam.com.

Slammasters will also have the opportunity to vote on new business at the virtual Slammaster’s Meeting, and festival host, Lance Newman, will be providing a more detailed update on the 2021 tournament in Louisville, Kentucky. Register for the 3rd Quarter Slammasters Meeting today.

Finally, we’re sure the most talked about news from the Town Hall has been the announcement of our first ever Sofried Virtual Poetry Festival to take place from August 7 – 9, 2020.
