Greetings to you and to all of our SoFried slamily!

March is all about women’s history and empowerment! Check out our feature poet, iCon – a poet, writer, performing artist, visual artist, teaching artist and the originator of the “little Black girls with big names” movement.

We kick off on March 16 with some much needed mindfulness and mental wellness – it’s been a year since the pandemic started, so let’s talk about it. On March 27, we close the month out right with a 12-hour marathon focused on empowered women from our SoFried Poetry community. Whether it be history, life lessons, poems, or stories, our poetic mavens will share their light and love with you all day and evening long.

As you know, April is a poetry packed month with National Poetry Month which we will celebrate by having a four day, avatar-based poetry celebration in our Echo world. This will be a great way for poetry entities and slam teams to get familiar with our avatar world and even host poetry readings, workshops, and talks. As we continue to navigate uncharted waters, it’s so important to check in with ourselves because the mind, body, and soul need restoration. To do this, we need ways to pour back in to ourselves because running on empty is not beneficial in the end. So let’s get together to share how we’re doing. Let’s also take a look at what self-care in SoFried looks like and ways to improve for our overall well being.

A  celebration of haiku for members in our avatar-based Echo world. The programming will consist of a three-session writing workshop, head-to-head haiku competition, and an afterparty. Also, features a Poetry Expo Hall and marketplace.
